Modbus Receiver

Overview

Modbus Protocol is a messaging structure developed by Modicon in 1979. It is used to establish master-slave/client-server communication between intelligent devices that are connected to the same network.

The Radio-Tech Modbus receiver has been designed to provide a complete solution for either fixed network data collection. It is designed to work in conjunction with most Radio-Tech transmitters and sensors.

It detects all the Radio-Tech transmitters and keeps them in memory as required by the Modbus protocol.  The receiver will respond to requests by a Modbus Master to report the data detected.

The receiver is available is four frequencies, 434MHz, 869MHz, 169MHz and the exclusive 153MHz (UK only).

Operational

The Modbus Receiver supports the Modbus RTU Slave mode. For the receiver to operate, it needs to be programmed with the addresses of the transmitters it is expected to receive. A memory map is defined and this holds the transmitter IDs and the information received, which can be read by a Modbus Master device.
