SMART Log Radio

SMART Log is a radio enabled data logger that provides an innovative and feature rich consumption monitoring solution for the water industry. The device counts and stores the pulses from a meter or turbine and transmits this information at 2 second intervals to a passing patrol vehicle, thereby removing the requirement to physically access the meter to retrieve the data.

The device can be retrofitted to any pulse output meter and stores data at specified intervals (typically 5-15 minutes) providing high resolution data for analysis or billing.

SMART Log can be used in many applications which include Commercial Logging and Drive-by AMR. As a Drive-by AMR unit, SMART Log can be used to capture data for accurate and frequent billing and through regular sampling, it can also be used to support complex tariff models.

Data download is fast and efficient. Even when positioned underground in a meter pit or boundary box, the logger can transmit data to a SMART USB Radio Receiver in a moving vehicle up to 100m away.  A one month profile at 15 minute intervals can be collected in <10 seconds, thereby significantly reducing the “per meter cost” of meter reading.

User friendly SMART Patrol PC software enables rapid data capture, ‘paperless’ installation of new devices in the field, user defined download periods and dynamic field analysis of flow information, helping to further improve both customer service and meter reading efficiencies.

Prior to driving the route, meter readers can define their download period to ensure that they do not waste time duplicating previous readings. Up to twelve months of profiled information can be downloaded.  Colour coded progress indicator bars maximise download efficiency and data received is analysed and displayed graphically within seconds. Data can then be simply exported in a CSV format for further analysis or billing.
