Si-Clops

Pressure control is the simplest and most immediate method of saving water and reducing leakage. Active pressure management using electronic pressure controllers enables pressure to be optimized with changing demand.

HWM’s Si-Clops system automatically adjusts pressure in response to changing demand to ensure that the “critical point” of the network  always receives sufficient pressure. This critical point is usually the highest point in the network where the minimum legal pressure must be maintained. A MultiLog telemetry data logger is used to record the pressure at the critical point and transmit data to a ControllerCom attached to a ControlMate FM pressure controller.

The ControllerCom uses the data received from the critical point logger to remotely program the ControlMate FM to adjust the water pressure. The system intelligently controls PRV output pressure against the zone’s actual demand to provide self-learning flow modulated control.

This closed loop intelligent pressure control system uses a self learning algorithm to automatically anticipate changing demand and adjust pressure accordingly to meet demand. If pressure at the critical point falls or rises above a pre-set band, an alarm is automatically sent to the ControllerCom to take immediate action. This maximizes water savings.

The Si-Clops system is supplied with external battery packs  to power the system for up to five years and allow up to full 24-hour instant access if required. Remote access avoids costly and time-consuming site visits and enables all logged data and control settings to be available from a central PC.

The Si-Clops system enables water companies to automatically provide the lowest possible legal water pressure in their network, thereby conserving water and reducing the quantity of water lost through leakage.
